About UsThe Gracie Fields Theatre offers an exciting programme of events from Rock, Pop, Jazz and Classical Music to Comedy, Drama and Dance. We share a campus with Oulder Hill Community School, Redwood School and Oulder Hill Leisure Complex.
The theatre was opened in 1978 by Gracie Fields. You can read more in the 'Our Gracie' section of the website.
We are home to Rochdale Amateur Operatic Society and their wide variety of productions including Concerts, Plays and Musicals. Rochdale Amateur Operatic Society has contributed to the musical and cultural life of the local area for over a century. The Society is a registered charity and has raised over £50,000 for local causes throughout the years.
Families of Rochdale and our surrounding areas have been coming to our annual pantomime for years, we are proud to play a part in their Christmas traditions. Our Christmas wishing well helps to raise money for local charties. During our 2013 pantomime we raised money for Rochdale Heartbeat who support our local coronary care unit.
We are proud to sponsor Rochdale Youth Orchestra who hold their annual Christmas Concert with us every December. Rochdale Youth Orchestra with musical director Sue Verity rehearse weekly in our rehearsal rooms with tutors from the Royal Northern College of Music and other experts. Rochdale Youth Orchestra Jazz Ensemble is directed by Chris Jolly.
